I wonder if this is petty - but I am annoyed inordinately by people clipping their nails on the seats near me when I ride public transit. Have they no respect? Leave no trace is a mantra I would like to see practiced on trains, planes and buses - and public space in general. (And don't get me started on women who decide to apply fingernail polish in the pressurized confines of aircraft....)
